Oberdöbling - the chic city quarter of embassies ...

Oberdöbling, first mentioned in 1114, was a simple farmer village once before the gates of Vienna and only consisted of 39 houses by the middle of the 18th century. By the use of this area as an imperial hunting ground Oberdöbling got, however, interesting for the nobility and the 'better society' very fast. Who could afford it built a 'second residential building' here. After the incorporation Oberdöblings to the 19th Viennese district in the year 1892 it was 'duty' to live in Oberdöbling for the polite society quite particularly in the Cottageviertel.Döbling, particularly this part of it, is regarded as an absolute noble district of Vienna to this day.

There where Oberdöbling is the most beautiful, directly at the famous Cottageviertel the Apartment Niki*** is. You nevertheless are in the town center with the tram in 15 minutes.

wien apartments cottageviertelAs former farmer village and residential area of the 'High Society' Oberdöbling doesn't have to offer many sights unless of course many green spaces, parks and noble villas. Here one lives therefore to care for an adequate, quiet way of life and not go down in the Troubel of the city. The Cottageviertel is part of the finest and most expensive residential areas of Vienna. Das Cottageviertel gehört nach wie vor zu den feinsten und teuersten Wohngegenden Wiens. The many old villas and noble houses as well as the quiet lanes full of trees and green spaces are characteristic. Many socialites live here, for example Thomas Hampson and Arik Brauer. Most embassies and consulates are established in this area today.

Noble or trendy bars just like fine restaurants and cozy caffeehouses. One is out here less for work than on society. To see and to be seen!
